Many patients are now asking their health practitioners for information about medical thermal imaging. This non-invasive diagnostic technique allows the examiner to visualize and quantify changes in skin surface temperature. The resulting map of the body’s temperature is called a thermogram.
A thermogram is unique in its capability to show physiological change and metabolic processes, helping health practitioners in early detection, diagnosis and treatment.
Clinical Uses For Thermography
- Define the extent of a lesion of which diagnosis has previously been made
- To localize an abnormal area not previously identified so further diagnostic tests can be performed
- Detect early lesions before they are clinically evident
- Monitor the healing process
When a patient is scanned, the images are sent electronically to our panel of Thermologists (certified doctors trained as specialists in thermal imaging) for interpretation and reporting.
